Description:

A rare colonial Pattern 1844 Yeomanry Carbine, issued to NSW mounted militia. The lock is marked 'Tower 1845' with a VR crown. The butt is stamped NSW (faint) CA 102 and the butt tang stamped with CA 2. To quote Skennerton, "such carbines were issued to colonial mounted forces, although Government ownership or issue markings are rarely seen". Unknown how many of these were issued to the colonies, though there may have been as few as 200 in NSW. 20 inch barrel, .65 bore percussion cap muzzle loader. The firearm shows moderate use, with the metalwork having a grey patina and the stock with numerous dings, but no splits. The captive ramrod is functional, as is the saddle ring. Comes with a nipple protector. I've fired blank charges out of this, but no lead balls. No registration required in NSW, check your own state regs. Price includes postage to eastern states.
