Description:
Burris "Pos-Align" 'scope rings are especially machined to accept plastic spherical bearings. These rings will align a 'scope without distorting it no matter if the rings are mis-aligned to each other. Additionally some rifles have problems with crooked screw holes and crookedly fitted barrels all of which make aligning a 'scope properly, while maintaining full operating function, absolutely impossible.
All of these inserts offered here are "NEW" and perfect condition.
"Zero" concentric ring inserts correct mis-aligned rings while allowing the 'scope tube to be firmly held in place without bending it.
+ - 0.005", + - 0.010" & + - 0.020" eccentric ring inserts permit a 'scope to be deliberately fitted "nose- up" or " nose-down" to better centre the reticle .... or to deliberately introduce more "plus elevation" (down elevation is almost never needed) for the purposes of long-range shooting where you may need all the elevation adjustment you can get.
With 'scope rings spaced approximately 4" (100mm) apart a 0.005" eccentric insert will displace the point of impact at 100 yards by approximately 5 MOA ie. 5" (125mm).
Similarly, the 0.010" & 0.020" eccentric inserts will shift the impact at 100 yards by approximately 10 MOA ie. 10" (250 mm) & 20 MOA ie. 20" (500 mm) respectively.
Only one set of "Zero", + - 0.005" & + - 0.010" inserts are available.
Several sets of + - 0.020" inserts are available.
NB. While it may be more usual to install a "Zero" insert in one ring and an eccentric insert in the other, the eccentric inserts can also be employed in-combination to achieve more extreme variations. It is not uncommon to install a 0.020" insert "up" in the rear ring and "down" in the front ring to achieve a genuine 40 MOA incline in the 'scope for the purposes of long-range shooting benefits.
