Description:

. . . or Pecar Anywhere Else

Some people raved about Pecar Berlin's lenses - but that's not what really made them great. It was not even their interchangeable reticle systems (a nice idea but I don't recall they came with fresh nitrogen to replace whatever got away).

What made Pecar Berlin distinctive and good was that they never gave in to the folly of 'image-movement' (constantly centred reticles achieved by suspending all the guts on springs) right up until the factory closed in 2006. Even their 'centred' Champion models used the strong reticle-movement design.

No other hunting scopes, and very few tactical models, have been made with reticle-movement since Pecar's Berlin factory closed.

Having bought several Berlin Pecars over the past 50 years and looked into how they work, I know they are good.

Sorry, my Pecars are not for sale but I do have a book to sell explaining why (among other things) you, too, should look for the real thing, even if the blue is worn off from years of hard work.

'LIGHT AT THE START OF THE TUNNEL - Are rifle scopes off the rails?' It's still available at $24.30 posted ; enhanced copies $35-$45.
