Description:
This rifle was built by Oakhurst Gunworks armourer for his own use. It has a TSE (Brisbane company) 22 inch barrel 1:8 twist, matched to the original Sako profile. The finish is matte blued. The wood stock has some nice figure, no marks. No marks on metal work. Bolt face clean and excellent. Shown in picture is a typical 5 shot group, 0.75 inch at 100 meters, as good as I can hold on a bipod on the bench, next to ten cent coin for scale. Very nice to shoot. Has a threaded muzzle 1/2 x 28. Includes nice Australian made blued steel scope bases.
Some points on the 300 Blackout cartridge:
1. Adopted by Western militaries, popular in the USA. Cases are easy to find and very long lasting. Using common .30 calibre projectiles, many options.
2. Can use common AR2207 powder to shoot bullets from 110gr to 220gr, from 950 fps to 2000-2350fps. Plenty for 200 meters.
3. Uses 20gr of powder or less to achieve excellent results, economical. No excessive blast.
4. Perfect cartridge for shooting cast bullets if you like that economical shooting, be it hunting or targets. The capacity means pressures are ideal, clean burning. A rifle that can be shot a lot and not break the bank.
Selling to buy another toy, keeping another rifle in the same cartridge.
