Description:
Here I have my 1916 No1, MkIII Lithgow .303b. SHT.LE. From my research using 'Buyer's Guide for the Lee-Enfield' by Ian Skennerton, this rifle was use for training during WW1, and later saw action in WW2. It had gone back to the factory for refurbishment due to its use in 1942, 1945 and 1950. The bayonet is genuine 1918 Western Australian made. That's the 5MD stamp. The two magazines, sling, oil can, bore snake and stripper clips are all genuine from that era. It is believed that the barrel has been replaced during WW2. All of the accessories including the bayonet was meticulously sort after through Barry's Firearms in WA. This is the real deal! There is a repair to the stock near the magazine well. Very common for them the crack in that area. This is the original wood for this rifle! Still shoots with precision. For its age and use, I will say it's in good condition. I do not want to sell this rifle but the time has come where it must be moved on to another collector.
N.B: All parts are genuine Lee Enfield. Some are not original to the rifle. Buyer pays for postage and any other additional costs.
