Description:
Sam Mann is neither Boddington nor Jack O'Connor but he has made eight overseas hunting trips, including to NZ, Canada, Mozambique and the USA - without boarding the industry gravy train.
Not only does he know how to spell tahr but has made three trips climbing steep mountains to hunt them (and chamois).
He has also learnt through bitter experience something about choosing scopes for the purpose. (The answer, he argues, is not massive magnification but compact equipment of a strength rarely found in today's market or admitted by other writers, though some do know the truth.)
'LIGHT AT THE START OF THE TUNNEL - Are rifle scopes off the rails?' (approx. A5, 152pp, incl. 28 colour pages) traces the descent of riflescopes from their golden age after WWII to the dubious 'advances' of today.
The $20 price, plus $4.30 postage, includes 24 pages of additional information to be sent by email; other options with additions printed: $30-$45 posted.
