Description:
Commemorating the 1979 visit of legendary knifemaker Peter Kershaw to Australia, this is #174 of only 500 made. SSAA collectors’ fixed blade KERRAWAH SKINNER LIMITED EDITION stamped Kershaw Oregon USA, in original presentation box, with original sheath, cardboard knife box and original advert from the SSAA Australian Shooters Journal May 1980 .
Overall knife length is 18.5 cm with a 8.5cm high-carbon stainless blade and 10cm full-tang handle with Cocobolo red wood inlays. Comes with unused twin stud tan Leather Belt Sheath, all in original hardwood display box.
This is number 174 of only 500 made and sold by application in mid-1980 - it is now at 45 years old and in mint, unused condition always stored in its box and opened a handful of times to check condition.
It looks like a beautiful and balanced skinning knife, but its real value is in the history behind it, from a simpler and freer time.
I bought this with thee weeks earnings from my part-time after school job and it has proudly sat of a shelf every since. I’m 60+ years old and it’s time to move it on to someone else who will appreciate it as much as I do.
