Description:
This Lithgow 1941 303 No.1 MK 3 was reissued as a 'Civilian Rifle" by the Dept. of Defence. It is perfectly original with matching bolt and receiver and stock.
The stock has been re-stamped with the original markings still able to be read. I have all of the information from the stock. There are sites in the internet about these stocks. Still the same original serial numbers. Very Original and very Historical as it has the "Dep.t of Defence" "S" stamping for civilian release. Matching bolt and rifle numbers. This rifle has a heavy duty barrel in great condition.
I hope I have everything correct as I researched this rifle and was very impressed with its condition and originality and markings.
The wood is almost the same colour throughout. That's rare for a No. 1 MK 3 from 1941.
More photos if needed.
The telescopic sight is a rare Field Instruments scope. Costing around 3 shillings at the time I believe. It has the original leather lens protectors.
May have bayonet for sale as well.
