Description:
Rare opportunity for an Australian collector to own a verified American Civil War "War-Date" Saber. Manufactured by the famous Ames Mfg. Co., Chicopee, Mass.
• Authenticity: Stamped "U.S. / ADK / 1862" on the ricasso. ADK is the mark of government inspector A.D. King. Reverse features the Ames scroll.
• Condition: Excellent for its age. Brass hilt has a deep, uncleaned mustard patina. Original leather grip is intact, and the brass wire wrap is tight.
• Blade/Scabbard: The blade is slightly curved and bright with minimal service wear. Comes with its original heavy steel scabbard (double ring).
