Bayonet. Snider Sawback

Description:

A rare issue of the Snider Carbine second type sawback bayonet. Made espacially for the Snider Artillery Carbines issued to the New Zealand Imperial Troops and Volunteers in the Maori Wars.
These were converted from the 20 inch blade Pattern 1875 for the Martini Enfield by Enfield in 1880- 1881.
Records indicate only 2100 were so converted.
Converson date is marked as 9/81 and the rifle rack number is 568.
