Description:
This Antique rifle is according to markings made prior to 1893. Likely date is between 1856-1893. It is marked with ELG on star in an oval. Made in Belgium and with a Bench of Tests of Liege with ELG on star in oval indicating period of manufacture.
It is an octaganol barrel with single shot action. Timber & metal work is quite intricate.
This is a most interesting period piece and one for the collection.
