Description:
Fine example of a ‘club’ style rifle, typical of those accurised by Sydney gunsmiths H. Motton and Son. Based on 1918 BSA Sht LE receiver and fitted with a Lithgow heavy barrel, stamped ‘Motty’ ’61. Adding to the provenance is a genuine ‘Motty’ peep sight, documented as being owned by A.J Mathews, handicapper of the Hurstville District Civilian Rifle club and winner of the Brentnall trophy. This unique rifle is fitted with a set of custom made Walnut furniture from Lithgow Replica Firearms of Brisbane who milled it this year .The BOLT and NOSE Cap have no serial numbers stamped.
