JM Marlin “mechanically new”

Unfired by me and hard to find any sign of same. This is a 1988 model with cross bolt safety. I am not an aficionado but have read a bit. These models were economy, wood is lower grade. From what I can make out these cap style forend models are easier to get accurate repeatable results. There is a ding in the wood below “microgroove” on 4th picture. Bought rifle from a deceased estate so you may well be the first person to say they fired it! Enjoy.
