Description:
This 80-year-old rifle is as original as you can get. Manufactured in 1941 at Lithgow. Very early WW11 weapon. Markings on the action are 1941 SMLE No 1 MK 111. Has the original, as issued, muzzle protector.
The sling is green rather than the standard Karki. It is also 56ins long where the standard sling is 44ins. I can’t advise on the type of sling other than assume, it was issued for a particular reason. The illegible stamps/markings on the butt above the 111* are MA Lithgow. The other stamps/markings on the butt are 1942 and HV.
The rifle has all the original bits and pieces and matching numbers. Plenty of other photos available. Price is negotiable.
