Description:
1918 Lee Enfield No. 1 Mark 111* SMLE plus Wilkinson Bayonet No. 1 Mark 1 pattern 1907.
Low four digit serial number which is also stamped on right side of receiver ring, barrel knox form, rear flat of bolt handle, nose cap boss, underside of timber end near nose cap and underneath back sight leaf.
I have owned this rifle for 45 years and during this time only fired approx. 250 rounds of my own reloads, no FMJ or old military ammo.
The history of this rifle dates to the 26th Australian Infantry Battalion, all paperwork ( laminated) comes with rifle.
Condition of rifle - chamber is tight. Head space perfect. Rifling, bolt, bore and timber work with an original 1918 Halfpenny where brass disc was originally fitted.
Rifle is very accurate and smooth and is in a very good, used condition. You would be hard pressed to find a 303 in this condition (with history paperwork). A very good collection piece at 104 years young.
