Winchester 88 - Modern Lever Action in .243

This modern classic Winchester lever action has only been out of the safe a few times in the last 40 years. It is in very good condition. The photos show good detail when enlarged. The bore is shiny with very well defined rifling - 9 out of 10. The factory synthetic finish on the stock shows some wear in places but is quite reasonable. It has a four round detachable magazine, and comes with a vintage but serviceable Bushnell 'Command Post' 4X scope.

The action is very fast with a short lever throw. The trigger moves with the lever, probably explaining why 88s have dull triggers - not their best point, but would not concern a pig or goat 100 metres out contemplating their estate planning . Winchester 88 rifles were made from 1961 to 1973 and the serial number indicated this one was made in 1966.

Buy this one and you will be opening the esky while your hunting mates are still unloading the tube magazines on their Wincherster 94s and Marlin 95s.
