Collectable straight stock,
Pre-crossbolt safety model, Marlin 336 - made in 1978.
(you subtract the first two digits of the serial number (i.e. 22) from 100 to determine the year of manufacture. (i.e. 100 - 22 = 78 so it was made in 1978).
This rifle is 'JM' stamped -
The JM stamp was applied to the barrel after two rounds of SAAMI spec Proof Ammo were fired as a test to make sure the rifle was correctly assembled and would hold together for the owner.
The Proof Ammo was specially loaded to produce 150% of Maximum Average Pressure in normal operation.
After firing, the bolt, locking block, and receiver mortise were inspected.
If the rifle passed the test, it received the JM stamp. That's why it's called a "Proof Mark".
Fitted with a WOLFGANG 1x25 red dot sight.
Fitted with a Hammer Spur Extension - to provide a larger contact surface and outstanding grip and control.
Can include a used, padded gun bag.
