Description:
This target rifle uses a .38-303 cartridge similar to an obsolete Ballard one, Cases are readily made by expanding the .303 case neck. This particular rifle was set up for black powder silhouette competition. Owned by one of our hall of fame shooters, it was taken to the U.S. in 2013 & participated in the National Rifle Associations silhouette championships .
The rifle leaves a bit to be desired in the looks department. there is some practice checkering in the wrist area (removable) & not much bluing on the metal work but does have aged patina .
Importantly the bore of this rifle is in perfect order . I did not get a chance to fire this rifle but I believe it is very accurate. I planned to use it in the SSAA Long Range Championships in May but health issues .have put paid to this .
The rear tang sight is a top quality Montana Vintage Arms one with a 'Hadley' adjustable aperture. I have a set of 'Pedersoli' inserts for the front tunnel sight.
