Description:
This is a refurbished German made 1941 Kar98k Russian-Capture, action is stamped BYF 1941 - Mauser Oberndorf Factory. (Not a Mitchells Mauser)
This rifle was bought in 2018 to be a shooter, to look and shoot like new/better than new.
Re-barreled with a modern replica barrel, exact same length, material, profile, twist, fresh crown. (less than 100 rounds fired through)
Metalwork has been Cerakoted in Graphite-Black & Duracoated everywhere else in Matte-Black.
Stock has been redone with Walnut stain & Tru-oil, has some minor bedding around the front/rear action & a tiny bit around the front barrel-band (for stability/consistency)
Has a beautiful drop-in aftermarket Timney Trigger Sportsman 102 installed. (as seen on Hickok45's K98 Rc videos)
Roughly 2 pound single-stage trigger. Also comes with the original two-stage factory trigger.
All Springs have been replaced by Wolff Gunsprings with the same size/weight. (replica springs)
Aftermarket Post style front-sight blank that needs further tuning. (comes with original front-sight)
Has a replica steel checkered Kar98k Sniper style buttplate, the original smooth steel buttplate tends to shift around in the shoulder when firing due to a lack of texture.
The action is very smooth & there is no need to drop this rifle to the hip in order to cycle the bolt.
Sale comes with:
The Rifle.
Replica Leather Sling (on the rifle)
12" Cleaning Rod (on the rifle)
Timney Trigger (on the rifle)
Additional Parts:
Factory Trigger.
Factory Front-Sight.
Front Sight Fine-Tune Tool.
Front Sight Hood.
This has been my sole rifle since 2018, it was bought to be a shooter & never to be sold. However hard times have put me in a situation where I must let go of my beloved Milsurp Rifle.
