Haenel pistol model 1 represents the Schmeisser system designed for automatic pistols and was developed and patented at the end of the 19-th century by Bergman. This historically significant and most important, one of the first and well known worldwide weaponry systems was named by Bergman's designer name Hugo Schmeisser, who came to Haenel as designer and chief engineer. Schmeisser brought designs for a 6.5 mm pistol 6-shot magazine, which was patented in Germany in 1910 and 1920. Haenel production of the Schmeisser design (the Model 1) began in 1922 and continued until about 1927. In 1927 it was replaced by Haenel Modell-2. Both models represent the world famous Schmeisser system which was associated with the development and production of the Bergmann pistols and famous machine guns most popular during the both World Wars. Because of its designed system this pistol fits any collection of central European designed weaponry systems used till the end of the Second World War by civilians. Because some morphological characteristic features and relatively low serial number proves that this pistol was manufactured in the first half of the 1920-s decade.
Pistol has cracked slide, so it cannot be fired without repair, however is still in working and functional condition. It belongs to collection of historical firearms and on collector license.
