Description:
Genuine and Original- 1944 Lithgow , Experimental , Shortened and Lightened .303 rifle.
Absolutely no marks , unfired condition, barrel still has original factory cosmoline grease packed in it , Action was cleaned of grease for id and registration purposes only ,
Rifle comes with original, and in grease planned issue , 10" pattern 1907 bayonet , and Mangrovite scabbard that was in original box - wrapped oiler and pull through ( unopened) , also has original Small Arms Factory waxed packaging box ,
This is, 1 of 100 that was produced in 1944 for trials as Jungle carbines, accordingly 50 or more , of these were modified into No6 Mk1 trials rifles, in 1945 for actual trials . They are the rarest of the collectable Lithgow produced SMLE rifles, and, as has never been used or issued , would suit collector . I have owned and stored for nearly 40 yrs.
Was the absolute Queen of the safe , and I am genuinely reluctant to part with , but with potential NSW licensing changes , I would prefer to sell ,than have lost to the governments crushers.
For sale at $15,000. Buyer to cover postage costs
Genuine enquiries only please .
