Description:

Oceania Precision SP-15LR in 300blk. This rifle was one of 15 (I believe) LR models made in an attempt to satisfy the appearance law requirements of NSW and WA. Unfortunately it was not successful in meeting NSW requirements, and WA later accepted the standard SP-15 models. So, the SP-15LR was only released in a small batch. The main difference from the SP-15 Tac is that it has the return spring mounted above the carrier, not behind it in a buffer tube. It normally mounts MDT skeleton buttstocks, but I fitted an MDT to Buffer tube adaptor and a Magpul MOE Carbine buttstock, as the original MDT one was rather heavy. The rifle weighs just under 3kgs bare, making it an amazing carry rifle if you keep the accessories to a minimum.

When I bought it, it had a light 223 barrel on it with a very short throat. I bought a new Swan 300blk barrel taken from another SP-15 at Cleavers, and Jeff Bacon himself fitted it. It's only had about 200 subsonic rounds of cast and coated ammunition through it since new, just offhand plinking. The barrel is cerakoted black. I can't say how many rounds it had as a 223 with the previous owner, but the bolt face shows minimal use. There are precious few of these around, and they truly are the Rolls Royce of straight pull rifles. The action is like ball bearings over oiled glass, and the trigger pull is light (estimate 2.5-3lbs) and crisp. Some light wear marks are present on the cerakote, notably on the brass deflector. Has had a Strike Industries left side bolt release installed and comes with a 10 round Pmag with a +5 extender.

Reason for sale: I have a WFA1L and an SP-15LR, and I’d like to try something different (eyeballing a Henry Supreme). There is an ad for the Warwick also up on SSAA gunsales. I’d like to sell one or the other as I don’t really need two straight pulls, one’s plenty enough fun and function!

NOTE: Would Consider a trade for a comparable bolt or lever action rifle in 223 or 300blk.
