Description:
Purchased by my father in 1948 and passed to me in 1967 and I had it re blued, wood refinished and a full length magazine fitted. Factory checkering is very faint and some general cosmetic wear from carrying and use etc, however it has not fired more than 300 rounds since 1948. The barrel has Model 53 Nickel Steel engraved on it and its bore is excellent. I'm told these were the last of the Model 53 that used Model 92 frames and serial numbers and that this deluxe version is rare and hard to find.
But I now have no option but remove it from my licence so I am considering having it further refurbished, checkering recut then rendered as a wall queen. But I'm a tad loath to destroy it in this manner being a special model. So in order to keep it functional I will consider a good offer for it to have another home before making this decision. I will be driving to Melbourne in early June so it could be delivered to a dealer in Adelaide, Melbourne, areas at no cost, if sold. Otherwise transport can be arranged for $280.
